At the Waikato Orthodontic Centre, we have the solution. We can straighten your teeth using Invisalign’s virtually invisible aligners, so no one will know you’re having treatment.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment method which our team uses to straighten your teeth. The difference with Invisalign though is instead of using braces to straighten your teeth, this treatment uses a series of clear, plastic aligners. These aligners are custom-made to your teeth and are changed – by you – every one to two weeks. As you wear each new set of aligners, your teeth become straighter and straighter, until you’ve achieved the straight teeth and beautiful smile you’ve always wanted.
How does Invisalign work?
Your Invisalign aligners are created based on 3D impressions taken of your teeth. These impressions identify the position of your teeth now. The software then tracks the movement your teeth need to make to become straight.
Over the course of your treatment, you need to change your aligners every one to two weeks. You’ll be given an aligner to wear on your top and bottom teeth. Every set of aligners is moulded slightly differently to encourage your teeth to straighten.
Benefits of Invisalign
There are so many benefits to Invisalign which goes a long way to explaining why they are so popular with our patients. To start with, they are virtually invisible. The clear plastic material they are made from blends in with the colour of your teeth, and because they sit over the top of your teeth, no one can tell you are wearing them.
They’re also removable. That’s right – you can take them out for eating, brushing and flossing. Orthodontic treatment has never been so easy! You don’t have to worry about having metal brackets stuck to your teeth that you have to clean around. All you need to do is remember to put your aligners back in after eating and cleaning your teeth.
Invisalign aligners are comfortable to wear. Not only are they custom-made to your teeth, they don’t have any parts that will scratch or irritate the inside of your mouth.
